Opposition leaders Sali Berisha and Tritan Shehu, in a series of statements, have held “the president of the republic and the government” responsible for the situation created in the country. Yesterday afternoon, a group of around 100 people, including some unknown individuals, attempted to move toward police stations No. 1 and No. 2. The police stopped them by force, using rubber batons. In the ensuing confusion, as a result of the clash, one protester was killed, while a large number were injured. The demonstrators refused to disperse and the situation became even more tense. According to police sources, those detained are accused of disturbing public order and resisting law-enforcement forces. The protest was linked to the pyramid schemes and the heavy losses suffered by citizens. The tension is also spreading to Fier and Shkodër.
